WhatsApp Group Etiquette
1. Always try to keep to the purpose of the group, try not to post irrelevant messages.
2. Please put a short, TOPIC HEADER – e.g. (TV OUTAGE) at the start of your message so people notice it quickly. This will also help them to skip items they are not interested in.
3. Where you believe there’s an issue that needs collective attention, please put a Topic HEADER in bold – e.g. ALERT (or URGENT ALERT) at the start of the message.
4. This group is mainly for information purposes only. Please don’t spam the group with adverts, irrelevant notices, or dodgy videos.
5. Messages should generally be short – not longer than 120 words. Post messages in one chunk of text and not as a series.
6. Do politely excuse yourself before you leave the Group – don’t be offended if others leave.
7. Members are encouraged to Participate but you don’t have to respond to every post.
8. Try not to have long one-on-one conversations in the group. Switch instead to private text messages.
9. Participating ought to be fun and not be stressful. If it is, try quitting it for a while. Consider “Muting” your group notifications occasionally. This is a sanity saver.
10. If you are not sure if you should post an item, ask yourself these three questions: Is this relevant? Is this necessary? Is this a good time to post this?
